Slice of Life

Set in the marshlands of North Carolina, this book tells the story of Kya, abandoned by her family and left to raise herself and survive alone. Dubbed the ‘March Girl’ Kya is shunned by the townsfolk who see her as strange and an outcast.

Kya is one with nature and develops a deep connection with her surroundings, becoming an expert in the marsh. After years of isolation Kya finally begins to connect with the townsfolk but this stalls when one of them is found dead in suspicious circumstances. the finger is soon pointed at Kya.

This book is a delightful mix of courtroom drama and coming of age tale.
